Love It
In today’s society it is as if natural body types aren’t good enough. Whether we like it or not, most urban dwellers come into contact with images promoting slim women and buff men every day through television, magazines, and even ads on buses. The problem with most, if not all, of these images is that they are airbrushed and manipulated to look this way, hiding the model’s natural beauty.
My images are of real bodies and highlight each model’s natural beauty. I have asked my models to state what they do and do not love about their bodies in order to start a discussion about body image and also in hopes of my audience empathising with them. What I want is for a person with low self-confidence and a negative body image to see these images and feel that they are not alone. I want this person to realise that their body is beautiful—including the parts they don’t like.
My models are natural, every day, and average people. They are not perfect but they are beautiful, and it is their imperfections that make them so.
